Some points to clarify

I've had a few questions about your assignments I need to clarify.

  • For your portfolio assignments, you can type them in Word and attach to an email to send to me (if you don't know how, come and see me,) or you can print them and bring to my office. If I'm not in my office, just leave them in my mailbox beside my door.
  • For your cover page of your portfolio, you can use any appropriate picture. You can also change your picture if you so desire.
  • If we have a half day with a compressed schedule, you leave after your last assigned class not the later normal time you leave on most days.
  • Some of the items required in your portfolio now will not necessarily be needed in your portfolio as you go on for further training or into employment. The portfolio for now will establish a solid base from which you can work from.
  • Your senior project reflection paper is a good item to put in your current portfolio because it will show potential employers your involvement in the community. It will also show them additional samples of your writing abilities. Therefore, you will want to give your best effort on all writing in your portfolio. Have someone else critique it for you before you submit it.
  • I am the only one who grades your portfolio based on the scoring rubric for the portfolio. After I grade your portfolio in the third week of April (remember your portfolio is due April 8th,) I have several teachers, office staff and administration pick their five favorite. The selected portfolios are then presented to the cooperative education advisory committee made up of local business/industry people. They choose their favorite one. A $50 savings bond (compliments of Jersey shore State Bank) is presented to the student with the chosen portfolio at the employer appreciation banquet on April 20, 2011.
  • All students in co-op submit a portfolio.
  • You can be as creative as you want with your portfolio as long as it remains professional looking. See me about this if you are not sure.
Hope this helps. Have a great day.

You can do this assignment one of two ways:
(1) in word and attach it to your email and send it to me
or
(2) Type it and bring to my office

Answering Your Employer's Phone Activity

Just for the fun of it.

Earlier this year Mr. Day taught you how to answer your employer's phone. Check out this new activity and let us know what you think. Was it helpful?
